Alnwick Model Railway Club My personal primary interest is the North Eastern Railway, with a soft spot for the Cornhill line which ran from Alnwick to Cornhill. I was once a member of the now defunct Alnwick and District Model Railway Club which leaves (as far as I am aware) no model railway club in North Northumberland. South East Northumberland is served by the excellent Blyth and District MRC. My intention is to try to restart the club - maybe initially a group of chaps and chapesses who meet monthly over a beer, or round a table making plans or models. Nothing needs to be limited to the NER - Southern, Great Western, London Midland, British Rail, old or modern, at home or abroad - any railway company in any scale or gauge, all are welcome. Who knows - eventually club premises, social events and exhibition layouts may appear! This idea is in its embryonic phase, but anyone who maybe interested, no matter what your level of experience, please contact me and I will get in touch. Feedback can be used to hopefully develop this site. |
Whittingham Station although derilect, remains largely in place. (Nov 2006) |
A useful resource for modellers, with easy access. Probably good to ask at the Station Masters house before climbing all over it! |
